Scholarship Description
Keep Blount Beautiful (KBB) offers environmental education programming to the City of Alcoa, City of Maryville, and Blount County schools. KBB places a large focus on youth education because young citizens who are given opportunities within their school day to learn environmental concepts and sustainable values will have a positive impact on the future of our region.
Field trips are an impactful way to teach students because they make the concepts learned more memorable, but they come with financial costs. Keep Blount Beautiful’s Environmental Education Field Trip Scholarships are funded by the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Community Outreach Support for Environmental Education Grant and will allow schools to send their students on environmental field trips at no cost.
The scholarship will cover the following:
Transportation costs
Portable toilet on-site
Snacks or lunch (if applicable)
A recycling bin and/or litter pickup kit to take back to your classroom

How to Apply
The Environmental Education Field Trip Scholarship is open to public schools in Blount County, TN that have transportation costs associated with field trips. Funding is limited and scholarships will be awarded based on both submitting the application in a timely manner and the ability to meet field trip requirements. The number of field trips offered through the scholarship will depend on each school’s budget. Multiple applications from the same school will be considered. Field trips must be scheduled during the 2023/2024 school year (August 2023- May 2024). Rescheduling a field trip due to weather, etc. will not impact your scholarship.
