Keep Blount Beautiful’s adult education programs make sure Blount County residents and businesses are fully equipped to take advantage of the recycling and waste disposal resources the City of Alcoa, City of Maryville, Blount County, and various other organizations offer.

 

Blount County Waste Disposal 101

Blount County Waste Disposal 101 covers everything Blount County residents and businesses need to know about waste disposal in Blount County including how/where/what to recycle, household hazardous waste, and the landfill.

This presentation can be done in person or on Zoom. A screen and HDMI hookup is required for in-person presentations. Blount County Waste Disposal 101 is also offered to the public throughout the year on Zoom. See the Upcoming Events tab to register for an upcoming webinar.

 

Blount County Recycling Center Tour

A tour of the Blount County Recycling Center is a great way to learn about how/what/where to recycle and Blount County’s achievements in recycling collection. Groups will learn about single stream recycling, glass recycling, and household hazardous waste collection from the Blount County Highway Department. This tour is offered to both youth and adults.

Note: The Blount County Recycling Center tour is only offered on Mondays. This is a walking tour generally limited to 40 people, but feel free to fill out the scheduling form and we can discuss your situation. Parking is available for a bus, van, and/or multiple cars.
