To provide the opportunity for citizens, businesses, and groups to contribute in local litter reduction

SponsorsBlount County Highway Department, Blount County Sherriff’s Department, and Keep Blount Beautiful ParticipantsCommunity organizations, businesses, industries, and/or individuals may adopt a one-mile section of road. All participants must be at least 12 years old. Participants between the ages of 12-17 must have parental permission and must have adult supervision. Requirements The adopter agrees to:· Adopt a one mile section of a city or county road for a period of three years· Pickup litter along the adopted street four times per year· Obtain necessary equipment and return it to the Keep Blount Beautiful office · Assure that all participants abide by all safety guidelines, and sign a waiver Blount County Highway Department agrees to:· Identify mile sections of road which are adoptable· Provide signs identifying adopter and section of road adopted Blount County Sheriff’s Department agrees to:· Arrange for pickup of litter and transportation to the landfill Keep Blount Beautiful agrees to provide:· Trash bags, safety vests, and gloves· Traffic safety signs

· Safety video and brochure upon request

· Litter pickers are available upon request; participants can purchase through Keep Blount Beautiful Adoption Signs
