In conjunction with Keep America Beautiful and the Great American Clean Up, Keep Blount Beautiful is hosting Blount County’s Great American CleanUp Recycling Day on March 12, 2011 from 10am-1pm at the Maryville Greenbelt Bicentennial Park Pavilion, 345 Court Street, Maryville, located behind the Blount County Courthouse.
(This is not a household hazardous waste collection event).
Recycling on site: Secured Document Collection (Smith & Hammaker), Electronics (Spectra Recycling) 50¢ charge per lb, Eyeglasses (The Lions Club), Coats for the Community (Blount County Fire Dept.), Cell Phones (Keep Blount Beautiful), Energy/Granola Bar/Nutrition Wrappers, must have foil lining (Keep Blount Beautiful), Fluorescent Bulbs-tubes/compact (Blount County), Hearing Aids (Hearing and Speech Foundation), Medical Equipment (Vine International), License Plates (The License Plate Man), Gently Used Shoes (Souls for Soles), Vegetable Oil-Bring in a closed non-glass container (Southern Alliance for Clean Energy - BioFuels), Bicycles (Jeff Roth Foundation), Mercury Thermometers (TVEP), Batteries (Knoxville Recycling Coalition), Alkaline batteries 85¢ charge per pound for; Rechargeable free, White Styrofoam-no shipping popcorn(Knoxville Recycling Coalition) small fee.
