All ages are encouraged to attend; children under the age of 17 must have parents on site.
Interested in volunteering? Contact Jillian Atchley with Keep Blount Beautiful at 681-4809 or email intern@keepblountbeautiful.org. All volunteers must pre-register in order to be given a location.
Locations: Ish Creek, Singleton Boat Ramp, George’s Creek & Blount County Access off Alcoa Highway.
“The Tennessee River and FortLoudounLake are extremely important to BlountCounty for recreational and industrial uses. It serves as our northern border. We strategically clean up the BlountCounty shoreline this time of year because the lakes are at their low point and have left behind a year’s worth of waste,” comments Charlene DeSha, Coordinator of Keep Blount Beautiful.
Do you have the volunteer spirit? Do you want to be a Blount County Environmental Hero? Become one in the million Tennesseans who participate in the Great American Clean Up thought the state. Tennessee is the first state in the U.S. to have 100% county wide participation with over a million volunteers. Each spring, Tennesseans take the time to clean up litter, refurbish parks and beautify public areas. The results are amazing. Every county in Tennessee participated in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Will you join us in 2010?
Please be a part of River Rescue and the Great American Clean Up 2010! Groups, families, and individuals can all make a difference. Volunteers need to RSVP to Keep Blount Beautiful at 681-4809 no later than April 7th.
