The one (1) Blount County Sheriff's Office Litter Crew Collected 198,109 lbs of litter on 828.5 miles of roadway and recycled 2,815 gallons of recyclables.

 

Keep Blount Beautiful Volunteers cleaned up 22,640 lbs of litter

 

A total of 220,749 lbs of trash!

 

Blount County, Maryville and Alcoa together spent over $115,000 to clean up litter!

 

In 2009

Tennessee Litter Numbers

 

In the 2009-2010 season: Approximately 25,489,000 pounds of roadside litter were collected through the Litter Grant program, approximately 7,144,000 of those pounds were recycled.

 

Litter was picked up on approximately 365,600 miles of county roads and approximately 58,230 state route miles.

 

Approximately 128,500 Inmates, Community Services, County Employees picked up litter during 2009-2010.

 

Approximately 5,406 Illegal roadside dumpsites were cleaned up.
